Welcome to GGITIME Blog Spotlight. My name is Gary L. Jamerson aka Urban Picasso; I’m a Watch Designer living in San Francisco Bay Area. This blog is about my career, life, and the watches I design.  In 1999 Garlason Group International (GGI) was established because of the desire to be a part of something I have been fascinated with since I was a small child with a “Disney Brand”Mickey Mouse watch, my first watch. As an adult my professional expertise derives from being a highly sought after licensed contractor specializing in Hardwood Flooring Design.

When I lost my father because his destiny called, who happened to be a goldsmith and professional photographer I was given many small treasures of his belongings. There were several high quality cameras, beautiful vintage watches (he loved watches), and simple but everlasting words of wisdom and advice. As I reflect on his words,“never sacrifice quality and master everything you believe in”. 

Perhaps as a child I inherited his love for watches to. I began to add to his watch collection I inherited and somehow managed to sell and make a sincere profit from the quality of the many vintage timepieces I purchased. I generated a fairly large following of buyer collectors and amassed and even larger personal collection of vintage watches.   

My father once told me that a man, who owned his time, owned the world! He also said that a man doing work he loved would forever hold onto his youth and happiness. I agree whole heartedly considering the joy I receive from being a designer of two genres. My passion for watches has allowed me to pursue the dream of having my own branded collection. Although I may never design another floor again leaving that effort to those I have taught to take over, I will design watches until destiny calls upon me. Much of my work is still in drawings simply waiting their opportunity to become a reality for you to gaze upon your wrist and bring happiness with your purchase of my work.
