GGI and Brian Donnelly Collaborate
Sometimes you have a day where you wish everyday was a repeat of why your day was so great. Today that day was here again for me. It started with a meeting of the minds with a brilliant photographer and photoshop master that sent me a note saying he would like to collaborate with me on several creative ideas. OK, this seems routine enough as I’m used to getting messages for meeting with individuals as well as companies wanting to collaborate in one way or another.
The meeting took place locally considering we both reside in the same city. We agreed to meet at a coffee house several blocks from his studio to chat and get a little familiar with each other. After 20 minutes we had realized we were mirrors of each other’s ideas and concepts on several fronts. The most important front was the love of art and passion it stirs inside to create great things.
We observed that there are many people who do not share in this understanding of art and its creative forms of expression. Life is a lesson of all kinds of enjoyments, some as
simple as a daily cup of coffee and reading the news on a winning sports team. But for some it’s much, much more than that, it’s about the exhilaration from experiencing something created from the soul. How the thoughts of an idea consume your daily life even while in slumber. It’s about trying to figure out how to achieve this idea in your head and produce verbatim its concept to a tangible real thing. Art is like that.
We made our way to his studio and I was encouraged to gaze upon the props and equipment that are the tools of his trade, I found myself being a like kid in a candy store. It was kind of funny and kind of sad. The funny part was the thrill of exploring something different from a vantage point of being given first hand lessons from a master on how to master the equipment and the lighting, however brief the experience. The sad part was how little time we have in our life to experience, if fortunate, only a few things from a professional point of mastery. I stopped briefly and realized that we were chosen by destiny to be artist; to be able t create beauty from tangible and intangible things.
Our meeting bought out the best in the both of us in tandem and in rhythm. We took from each other a sense of admiration and respect in our chosen fields and realized how to make art from the passion we had for what we do. We will build and create a tribe of likeminded individuals.
You’re welcome to be a part of our experience!
